Threonine

L - threonine

L – threonine 98.5% feed is an amino acid with an active ingredient content of at least 98.5%, obtained microbiologically. Soluble in water. It has the following alternative names: α-amino-β-hydroxybutyric acid; 2-amino-3-hydroxybutanoic acid. It is a white microgranular powder.

International name L-Threonine 98.5% feed grade,
2-Amino-3-hydroxybutanoic acid
Chemical formula 2CCH(NH2)CH(OH)CH3

Action

L-threonine promotes the growth of skeletal muscles, is part of immune proteins and a number of digestive enzymes, plays a major role in the synthesis of purines and glycine, serves as an energy source, and regulates feed intake. It has 100% isomeric purity and 100% bioavailability for pigs and poultry.

Crude protein equivalent 73,5%
Metabolic energy agricultural poultry – 3490 kcal/kg
pigs – 3700 kcal/kg

Usage

It is used for the production of premixes, feed additives, compound feeds in order to enrich and balance the diets of pigs and poultry with threonine. Supports normal protein metabolism in the body. Together with aspartic acid and methionine, it takes part in the metabolism of fats, which are important for the synthesis of collagen and elastin.

It is an essential amino acid and a structural element that is part of immune proteins and a number of digestive enzymes. Promotes the growth of skeletal muscles, synthesizes enzymes, glycerin, stimulates normal milk production and animal reproduction.

If we consider cereals and other fodder crops for the content of the substance in question, it should be noted that its share is rather low. Its deficiency is explained by the fact that in the composition of cereals it acts as the second limiting amino acid. Fattening farm animals based on grain and other components of the diet leads to its deficiency. This leads to a decrease in the rate of weight gain, which is unacceptable when raising pigs and other meat breeds of animals. Therefore, when compiling balanced diets for feeding animals with cereals, it is imperative to add feed threonine.

Without this substance, it is impossible to achieve the maximum use of feed resources in pig breeding. The addition of pure amino acids to the diet of pigs allows, without reducing growth rates, to reduce the protein content in the feed and improve its use. In poultry farming, its use allows achieving optimal development of young animals, as well as achieving maximum productivity of laying hens. The inclusion of this amino acid in the feed composition allows for maximum feed conversion and live weight gain in broilers. To balance the diets of animal feeding, a biosynthetic substance is used, the digestibility of which is 100%.

With a deficiency of the substance, there is a deterioration in feed conversion, the appearance of disorders of the nervous system, coarsening of the hairline, the development of eye cataracts, atrophy of the reproductive system; in some cases, there is an increase in the thyroid gland, fatty liver.
