Choline chloride

Choline chloride is a special feed additive, which is a source for farm animals of such a vital substance as choline. In fact, this is vitamin B4, from which the nervous excitation mediator, acetylcholine, is formed in the animal’s body. If there is a shortage of it in the animal’s body, then various diseases can develop, in particular, involution of the thymus, hemorrhagic degeneration, liposis of the kidneys and liver.

Vitamin B4 promotes better development of brain cells. In addition, part of this substance in the body is converted to acetylcholine, which contributes to mental processes.

Choline chloride

The body’s need for choline increases if the diet contains a large amount of fat (which is important in achieving the goal of increasing the hatchability of eggs), if the diet of farm animals and birds is minimally provided with methionine, and also if vitamin B5 is additionally introduced into the diet.

As a rule, to enrich the diet of farm animals, birds, fish, dogs and cats, choline chloride 60% is used, which is produced in the form of a hygroscopic red-brown powder. It is added to compound feed by mixing with the equipment available in the agricultural enterprise.
